Rachel Sudberry Haffner, 89, of Thompsons Station, Tennessee, passed from this life on Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was born January 25, 1928 at the home of her parents, the late Herschel and Lena Hassell Sudberry, on Carters Creek Pike at the Maury-Williamson County line.A graduate of Spring Hill High School, she attended David Lipscomb College and taught school in her hometown of Spring Hill. She was an active member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.She was preceded in death by her husband Campbell and her son William (Bill) Haffner, three sisters, Katherine Brewer, Maggie Hubbell and Anna Belle Jones. She is survived by a son, Johnny (Cathy) Haffner of Smyrna, two daughters, Katherine (Jesse) Osborne of Franklin and Janey Haffner of Thompsons Station, six grandchildren, Joe Anglin, Katy (John) Fly, Sam (Amy) Hood, Anna Haffner, Barbara Haffner and Will Haffner, five great-grandchildren, Gabriel Fly, Josie Anglin, Jaxson Hood, Rygar Hood, Steffe'n Summers and several nieces and nephews.Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at Southern Hills Church of Christ, 2508 Goose Creek Bypass, Franklin, TN. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at the church, with Dan Cottrell officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Franklin. Active pallbearers will be Joe Anglin, Sam Hood, Will Haffner, Gabriel Fly, Charlie Haffner Jr. and John Fly. Special acknowledgement for their support and honorary pallbearers will be Steve Osburn, Jesse Osborne, longtime dear friends Larry and Faye Cloyd, good neighbors Elvis and Mary Lee Caldwell, and nieces Charlotte Haffner and Susan McMillan.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Inc., PO Box 111180, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37222-1180.
