Charles Jewell

Mr. Charles Austin Jewell, age 79 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Jewell will be conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. John Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer. He was born June 24, 1935 in Gibson County, Tennessee; the son of the late Cecil Edward and Ethel Mae Johnstone Jewell. He was owner and operator of Jewell Steel Works. He served his country with the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jewell; daughter, Lorrie Johnson and John David; son, Scott Jewell and Wendy; five grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Crowe, Grace Jewell, Hope Jewell, Jacob Crowe and Beth, Adam Crowe and Amber; and brother-in-law, Ricky Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents.
