On June 17, 2024, the world lost a truly remarkable soul with the passing of Charles Raymond Phelps Sr. Born on September 21, 1949, in Franklin, Virginia, Charles brought light and love to all those around him throughout his years.
Charles was a man who effortlessly captured the hearts of everyone he met. His kind demeanor touched the lives of many, earning him the title of being loved by everyone.
One of Charles' greatest joys in life was indulging in his hobbies. Whether he was casting his line into the waters while fishing or showcasing his skills on the pool table, he found solace and happiness in these simple pleasures.
Charles is now reunited in peace with his father Claude Jackson Phelps and mother Lois Dean Phelps. Although he may have left this world, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his beloved son Charles Phelps Jr, who carries on his legacy and spirit. In addition, he leaves behind his dear sisters Donna Baker and Dianne Wallace, who will continue to cherish the memories they shared with him.
In honoring the memory of Charles Raymond Phelps, let us remember him not with sadness but with gratitude for having been touched by his love and light. May his legacy of kindness and joy inspire us all to live our lives to the fullest, just as he did.
