Charles Stephen Weaver, "Steve", 76, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025 surrounded by family and dear friends. Steve was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Charles Weaver. He is survived by his wife, Connie James Weaver; son, Lorne Mills of Phoenix, Arizona; his step-daughter, Katie Moore of Los Angeles, California; brother, Barton Weaver (Ella) of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister, Karen Singleton (Don) of Memphis, Tennessee; nephews and nieces Hayden Weaver, Kirk Weaver, Lindsey Shelton, and Becky Aston; sister-in-law, Sharon James Grubbs (Don); his beloved dogs, Bubba and Leon. We are sure he was met in Heaven by Missy, Phoebe, Buddy, and Bingo.

Steve had a very successful 40 year career as an entertainment attorney in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. He represented recording artists, songwriters, record companies, music publishers, literary authors, film producers, record producers and others in the entertainment industries. In his early years, he was also a musician, songwriter, guitar instructor, entertainment agent, and a regular member of several regionally popular groups based in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating law school, he relocated to Atlanta and was employed as Assistant Professor and Director of the Commercial Music/Recording Program at Georgia State University. He then began his private practice in 1983, with offices in Memphis and Nashville. In 1995 he moved all offices to Nashville's Music Row.

Steve was a member of American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association, Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Gospel Music Association, Copyright Society of the South, and Nashville Songwriter's Association International.

Steve was a grateful, sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 36 years. He loved helping others and sharing his experience, strength and hope. Steve fought a courageous battle with Posterior Cortical Atrophy, a rare form of Alzheimer's disease. The family is so thankful for the wonderful care he received from Alive Hospice. Any memorials to Alive Hospice of Nashville or Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue are greatly appreciated. A private memorial will be scheduled at a later time.
