Daniell Brian McCormickJuly 23, 1961 - February 14, 2025

Dan was born in the South Georgia town of Thomasville. Raised in Tifton, Georgia, he was the youngest of three boys born to Ira and Jean McCormick.He attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, receiving his Bachelors in Physics in 1982. In 1985, he earned a Masters in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. After completing his education, he remained in Nashville, settling in the Belmont -Hillsboro neighborhood.Dan was an avid canoeist and scuba diver. His interests included languages, Sci Fi, choral music, and n-scale model railroading. He was warm and witty, but also quiet, and would only speak when he had something to really say.

He is survived by his partner and husband of 22 years, Matt Gore, his mother, Jean, and his brother, Hank, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His family and friends love him dearly, and will continue to do so forever.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Nashville Humane Association, or to the cat rescue charity of your choice.
