Dorothy June “Dot” Reedy Bridges born July 26,1946 completed her earthly journey on November 20, 2016 surrounded by family and friends she truly loved. Born July 26, 1946 in Checotah, Oklahoma to the late James and Dovie Goines, Ms. Bridges called Robertson County her home for the past 50 years.She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Springfield. With her love for fashion, Ms. Bridges was not only a homemaker but a master seamstress. She was passionate about the 4-H clothing projects and enjoyed working as a clothing judge and clothing superintendent at the Robertson County Fair. She was active in the sewing and quilting community. Also a horse lover, she participated in Horse shows and local Saddle Clubs in her younger years. A citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation, a federally recognized tribe, she was proud of her heritage and enjoyed designing and creating regalia for herself and family while participating in or attending local pow-wows. Ms. Bridges was a direct descendant of the late, Alexander McGillivray, who served as Chief of The Creek Tribe in 1790. Dot Reedy Bridges will always be known for her sense of style, creativity, class and beauty.Ms. Bridges was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James "JB" Bridges and three brothers. To carry on her legacy, Ms. Bridges leaves behind her sons, Jimmy Reedy and daughter-in-law, Lorie Watson Reedy of McMinnville, TN and Brice (Kit Grousch) Reedy of Adairville, KY; daughter, Paige Reedy Betts and son-in-law, Brandon Betts of Springfield; TN; grandsons, Zeke (Heather Reedy), Rush (Samantha Weeter), Briar Reedy, Baylor and Parker Betts; and four great-grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held in her honor at the beautifully restored “The Lady Kathryn Bed and Breakfast”, 313 North Main Street, Springfield, TN on Saturday November 26, 2016. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Marvin Crouch officiating. This beautiful home was where Mrs. Bridges raised her family and she loved dearly. Dot and JB are finally reunited.
