Emily Fuller

Emily Bivens Fuller, 76, passed away February 13, 2015. Born June 3, 1938, Mrs. Fuller was the daughter of John Neal Bivens, Sr., and Alice Kate Bivens. Preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Fuller is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robin B. Fuller, her son, R. Byron Fuller, her daughter, Holley Fuller Roberts, her granddaughter, Hannah Kate Roberts, her brothers, Laurence Joel Bivens and John Neal "Hoppy" Bivens, Jr., and her sisters, Mary Ann Bivens Ritchie and Barbara Bivens Neal.Emily was a lifelong educator with a passion for teaching and learning. A graduate of Agnes Scott College, Emily taught for many years at University School, Harpeth Academy in Franklin and Harpeth Hall. At Harpeth Hall she first taught math and then directed the Winterim program. Emily later became the Executive Director of the Association of Independent Schools where she led teachers and administrators in the pursuit of excellence in teaching until her retirement.Emily's family and friends treasured her sense of humor, her positive approach to every project she undertook and her love of learning and of the students and teachers whose lives she touched.A memorial service will be held for Emily Bivens Fuller on Monday, February 23, 2015, at , at 1:00.
