Glenda Thomason

June 9, – February 2, 2021, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin L. Sullivan and Jessie Mai Sullivan, grandson, Shane “Chunky” Butler, and son -in-law Jerry Campbell.Survived by daughters, Angy Thomason, Deborah Sisco, Sharon (Sherman) Butler, and Karen Campbell; grandchildren, Chris Yerby, Zach (Nicky) Hollins, Sherman (Rosemary) Butler, Alex Youn, Dustin (Megan) Campbell, Marie (Shaun) Varsos, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. Siblings; Carol Reeves, Gary (Marian) Sullivan, Sandra (Ed) Vance, Lowell (Judy) Sullivan and a host of other loving family and friends.Glenda lived a life full of love and approached life with such positivity. Her laughter was contagious and could fill a room with such great presence. Her singing voice brought so much joy to those who were blessed to hear it. She made sure to always sing “happy birthday” to her daughters whether she was near or far. She loved to dance and could cut a rug with the best of them. Her spirituality was of great importance to her and she loved to share her gifts with others. She expressed herself through her artistry and poetry that she also took great satisfaction in sharing. She had the pleasure of becoming an ordained minister and was extremely grateful for the privilege of performing marriages for family members. The friendships she cultivated in life were a great source of joy to her that added to the already full life she lived. She loved giving and one of her greatest passions was nature as she donated to the Arbor Day Foundation throughout her life.She graduated from West High School in Nashville, TN in 1956. She moved cross country to California in 1982 where she started a career with Nissan shortly thereafter and retired in 1998. She moved backed to Tennessee to the delight of her family and where she helped care for her parents until their passing. She had been residing in Lavergne until 2017 where she was able to move in with the “the twins” her two youngest daughters, as they built their dream home in Columbia, TN.Glenda will be deeply missed by those who loved her. She always looked forward to life’s challenges and faced them with the understanding that they were opportunities to grow. Now she has entered a new journey as do all of us. Her words say it best ” Life is good as long as we remember to give Thanks to our Creator and Love to all those we meet”A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor her life and all those she meant so much to so many. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Arbor of Day Foundation at arborday.org.
