Helen Miller

Helen Marie Miller, age 94 of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully March 11, 2018, surrounded by her family in Dickson after a five year struggle with Alzheimer's and dementia. Helen was born February 25, 1924 in Mansfield, OH to Fred Newman and Dora Jane Cole Miller.Helen loved growing up on the family farm in Ohio. She moved to Nashville in 1964 where she worked as an accounting manager until retirement. She continued working as a beloved nanny and caregiver until she was 86. Family was a priority for her and she never missed a wedding, graduation, reunion, or significant family life event. She was known to travel to family members' homes to help with new babies, the elderly or for illness. She will be remembered for her willingness to learn new things and she never hesitated to try new adventures. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a member of Harpeth Heights Baptist Church in Nashville. Above all, her legacy will be that of the beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.Helen was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother, Harold E. Miller; and her sisters, Kathleen T. Schonauer and Juanita M. Fisher.Helen is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Joseph) DiPasquale; granddaughter, Molly Scott; grandson, Brad (Kristen) DiPasquale; great-granddaughters, Maci and Malli DiPasquale; brothers, Howard (Ruby) Miller and Steve Miller; sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller; brother-in-law, Max Schonauer; and numerous nieces and nephews.A celebration of Helen's life will be in held in Nashville and Ohio at a future date.Memorial contributions may be made to Harpeth Heights Baptist Church at Harpethheights.org or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at alzfdn.org.
