Howard Michael Floyd, affectionately known as "Papa Floyd", age 72 of Nashville, TN passed away January 31, 2018. He was born November 21, 1945 in Nashville, TN to the late Adley David Floyd and the former Loreen Althea Hollis."Papa Floyd" was a man of service to our country as Master Chief in the US Navy for 18 years. He was a man of love and a man of God. He has a wonderful family that will carry his spirit in their hearts for eternity. There is so much more to say about this man than words can express – you simply had to know him in order to understand how compassionate and loving he really was. His legend will carry on through all of his family – wife, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, as well as countless friends.Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Karey Norris.Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife, Chrstine A. Floyd; daughters, Mona (Kevin) Orange and Candy (Karl) Cherry; sons, Michael Knight and Michael (Mayra) Floyd, Jr.; grandsons, Shawn Floyd, Christopher Floyd, Jonathon Cherry and Kacy Norris; granddaughters, Kayleigh Cherry, Alexis Marie Floyd, Jessica Tyler Floyd and Megan Brittle; and great-grandchildren, LeeLee Floyd and Ayden Karter Cherry.A celebration of Mr. Floyd’s life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Little Creek Community Club, located at 7630 Old Hickory Boulevard in Whites Creek, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m., immediately following visitation.
