James Hairfield

James Wesley "Jim" "Bubba" Hairfield, age 78 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away on December 15th, 2016 at Saint Thomas West surrounded by loved ones. James was born in Richmond, Virginia on January 13th, 1938 to Robert Alexander Hairfield and Katie Virginia Burch.James' legacy is the family and friends that love him. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Hairfield; his children, Mark (Carol) Hairfield, Wade Hairfield, Gary (Nancy) Hairfield and Sherri Hairfield Guthrie; grandchildren, Christopher (Amber) Hairfield, Kelly Hairfield, Edward (Heidi) Hairfield, Adam (Jessica) Hairfield, Katie Hairfield, and Ilissa Garcia; and great-grandchildren, Sadie Hairfield, Kyler Hairfield, Codie Hairfield, Chloe Hairfield, Roman Hairfield and Lincoln Hairfield.Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant James Hairfield retired honorably in 1974 after 20 plus years of service. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War with three tours of service. He exemplified Honor and Integrity.From there, James pursued his Engineering Degree at Memphis State University, successfully worked multiple jobs (simultaneously to support his family) and completed his degree program in 3.5 years. The words "I can't" were not in his dictionary. Obstacles that might stop others, are added to his long list of accomplishments.James, the Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, gave unconditional love and support to his family. In all things James lead by example and showed his family what it meant to be a man of Integrity and Love. The standard he has set was of the highest level. His entire adult life was dedicated to this pursuit.James (the Friend) has many Great Friends. It is said that you can measure a person by the friends they keep and James' friends are of the highest quality.In conclusion, James Hairfield Walked on Water.Services date and time are to be determined.
