James Gordon McGarvey, age 60 of Nashville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He was born on January 19, 1956 in Nashville, TN to Gordon Charles and Mary Louise Felts McGarvey.Mr. McGarvey worked many years at Baird Ward Printing and retired as a freelance writer. Mr. McGarvey had a passion for researching and writing about the history of Nashville,TN. Mr. McGarvey’s witty writing style made his passion contagious among many and inspired others to continue learning more about his beloved hometown of Nashville, TN.Mr. McGarvey is survived by his son, James Binkley; daughter Christi Binkley; sister, Kathy Adams; and brother, Tommy McGarvey.A private memorial service will be held.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nashville Public Library, 615 Church Street, Nashville, TN 37219.
