Joseph Carter

June 24, 1978 — September 27, 2020

Joseph Patrick Carter, one of God’s children, went to be with our Lord,September 27, 2020, at the age of 42. He was residing in Jackson, TN.Joseph was born on June 24, 1978 at St Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was a graduate of Armwood Senior High School. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Mango where he and his Mother were baptized together. As a youth, Joseph participated in many plays and musicals. He began private Tae Kwon Do lessons at an early age. He later enrolled with the Christian Tae Kwon Do Rangers and achieved the rank of Second Degree Black Belt.Joseph’s love for his family was one of his greatest joys. He loved attending family gatherings always bringing delicious tasty dishes that highlighted the wonderful talented cook that he was. He was so good he could eat a meal in a restaurant then go home and make it and it would even be better than the restaurant. On a lighter note, anyone in the family can attest to the fact that Joseph (and his brother) ate no meal without ketchup. If you ask anyone in the family, they can share a lighthearted ketchup story with you.Later in his life Joseph became a hard-working tradesman. He enjoyed days at the beach and playing team sports. His soul was fierce, yet his love for others was without restraint. Joseph was the type of person you would love to love because his personality would draw you in and keep you smiling.Joseph is survived by his mother, Sharon and his father, Joseph “Captain Hal” Carter Jr., his brother Allan (Jennifer) Carter, a nephew, Austin; 3 nieces, Emma, Alexis, and Ashley (Josh) Salyers and Poe, a great-nephew, as well as an uncle Robert (Lori) Cherenko and 3 aunts Toni (Tom) Sturm, Nancy (Roman) Bielawski and Beverly Romanetti and many cousins who loved him so dearly. Joseph was loved by so many and will be greatly missed, but we would never want to bring him back from Heaven for we know He is with Jesus and there was a celebration for his homecoming.A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Joseph, at The Chapel, 11505 East Broadway Avenue, Seffner FL on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 1 :00p.m. with a reception to follow. For Memorial contributions, instead of flowers, the family has designated Mango Elementary Outreach c/o The Chapel
