Julia Cook

Julia will always be remembered for her style, wit, warmth and Euchre skills. Born on a farm in rural Kentucky, she notoriously celebrated two birthdays, the day she was born and the following day when her family filed her birth with the county clerk. From these humble beginnings sprung a long and beautiful life filled with cherished family and furry friends. A homemaker at heart, Julia spoiled those around her with her delicious cooking… made from scratch biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, pot roast, chocolate mousse, rhubarb pie and coconut cake… it was a treat to be in her kitchen. She resided in Indiana, Kentucky and Florida, as well as traveling to China when she was in her 80’s. Spending time with loved ones, whether a festive gathering or a relaxed afternoon visit on the porch, was one of her favorite pastimes. She experienced many health issues, surviving two battles with cancer, but continued to amaze all around her with strength and resilience. Later in life Julia discovered a passion for politics and current events, always up to speed on world news and happy to engage in conversation. Of her many attributes, the love she had for her family remains the most memorable, a lasting tribute to a life well lived. Forever in our hearts, a Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Aunt and Mother we “Love you mucher”.
