Matthew Campbell Murphy died unexpectedly Sunday, September 10, 2023, at age 32, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on July 12, 1991, in Memphis, Tennessee. He entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age.

Matthew attended Presbyterian Day School, Memphis University School, and the University of Mississippi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Banking and Finance. While at Ole Miss, he was an active member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a member of the Tennessee Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Mortgage Bankers of America. He was instrumental in the formation of The Commonwealth Group, where he was Vice-President of Quality Control.

Matthew loved the outdoors, especially hunting with his father, snow skiing in Colorado, and spending time with Nala, his faithful Golden Retriever. He was an accomplished golfer, and he also enjoyed music very much. He was quite an avid reader. One of his favorite authors was C. S. Lewis, whom he delighted in quoting. Matthew had many friends, and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his contagious smile, his brilliant mind, and his tender heart.
