Michael Francis Kipp of Nashville, TN, died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Alive Hospice after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 73 years old.He was born October 24, 1943 in Glens Falls, NY, son of the late John Paul and Mary Rita Kipp Sheehan.Mr. Kipp is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (O'Keefe) Kipp; his three sons, David M. Kipp (Laura) of Holliston, MA, Bernard M. Kipp of Nashville, TN and Stephen A. Kipp of New York City; grandchildren, Liam, Erin, Gabriel, Matthew, and Anaya; sister, Joan L. Jones (John) of Granville, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.He graduated from South Glens Falls High School and St. Anslem College. In 1970, following three years with Army Intelligence, he went on to receive a Masters degree from Syracuse University. His career included appointments as Deputy Commissioner in New York State and marketing roles with HCA and Health Industries of America. He served as president of Signature Health Alliance and Premerus Diagnostics as well as a director of American Home Bank in Lancaster Pennsylvania and Chairman of Atlas Bank in Brooklyn, NY. He and his wife Mary have had an organization development consultancy, Kipp & Associates, for over 30 years.Mike enjoyed performing arts, poetry, jazz and travel. He and his wife journeyed for work and pleasure throughout the US and abroad to China, Saudi Arabia, Europe, the Mediterranean and Peru. He was active with Hope International in providing micro-finance services to nearly 1 million people in 16 of the poorest nations of the world.A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Augustine Chapel, 200 24th Ave S, on the campus of Vanderbilt University.
