Michael Dale Lyons

 In loving memory of Michael Dale Lyons, who peacefully passed away on April 27th, 2024 in Nashville, TN after a long battle with cancer. 

 Born July 15, 1977, Michael was a devoted follower of God, and his faith was the cornerstone of his life. He found comfort and strength in his relationship with God and lived out his beliefs with unwavering dedication. 

 A man deeply committed to his family, Michael cherished the time spent with his loved ones. His gentle and compassionate nature brought comfort to those around him, and his love knew no bounds. He leaves behind a family who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

 Survived by his wife, Reina Lyons and daughter Naomi, his father Marion David Lyons, siblings Olivia Rechter (Mark), Cheryl Santa-Ana (Ness), and numerous other family members, he is preceded in death by his mother, Neda Anne Hollingsworth Lyons, and brother Marion David Lyons, Jr.

 Michael was born July 15, 1977 in Signal Mountain, TN. He graduated from Baylor High School in Chattanooga, TN before pursuing his Bachelor's degree in religious studies at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his Master of Social Service degree from Bryn Mawr College. 

Before moving to Nashville, Michael worked at Easter Seals in Michigan. Once in Nashville he worked as a counselor for the women's prison system and then transitioned to Vanderbilt University as a therapist.

 An avid enthusiast of Progressive Rock music, Michael found solace and inspiration in the music of bands like Rush, Yes, and Dream Theater. His adventurous spirit was shown through a myriad of hobbies such as trail running, swimming, and cycling.

 Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle spirit left a mark on those whose lives he touched.

 A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Grace Community Church located at 5711 Granny White Pike, Brentwood, TN. 37027. Visitation is from 9-11am, CST with a service following at 11am CST.
