Noel Francis Stahl, age 68 of Nashville, TN passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Nashville. He was born January 12, 1948 in Fargo, ND to Leon Francis Stahl and the former Rosemary LaBreche.Noel grew up in Detroit, MI and attended St. David’s Parish School through 12th grade. He attended Vanderbilt University, playing football on scholarship from 1966-1969, graduating with a BA in 1970 and his JD in 1973. He served his country as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps Office of the Judge Advocate General from 1973-1977. He was a proud member of the Tennessee Bar Association for 43 years and a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was a litigator with Cornelius and Collins, Miller and Martin, and Butler Snow law firms in Nashville.He served as President of the Nashville Youth Hockey League and coached a number of teams. He served as President of the Sequoia Swim and Tennis Club when the pool was expanded and the diving well was added. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, counselor, leader and friend. He valued his family, his fellow lawyers, the doctors who were his clients and expert witnesses, and hockey - especially the Detroit Red Wings. His special interests included history, the outdoors, working in the woods, and his golden retrievers.H
e was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Francis Stahl and Rosemary LaBreche Stahl; a
nd three sisters, Alice Ann Stahl Femminineo, Leona Stahl Feighner and Rosemary Stahl Buchtel.Noel is survived by his wife, Sandy Page Stahl; sons, Peter Stahl and wife Tara McCarthy of Winchester, MA, Andrew Stahl and wife Chloe Stahl of Nashville, TN, Michael Stahl and wife Heather Davidson of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Audrey Stahl, Nora Stahl and Ingrid Stahl of Winchester, MA and Grady Stahl, Phoebe Stahl, Olivia Stahl and Gus Stahl of Nashville, TN; brother, Dan Stahl and wife Mary Ann Stahl of Whitmore Lake, MI; sisters, Loretta Stahl Thielen and husband David Thielen, Fraser, MI, Susan Stahl of Reston, VA, brother-in-law, Michael Page and wife Sue Page of Herndon, VA; brother-in-law, Steve Page and wife Karen McCall of Chapel Hill, NC; and many beloved nieces and nephews.A celebration of Noel's life will be conducted at a later date and arrangements will be announced when they become available.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the following organizations or a charity of the donor's choice.
