Patrice Alecia Kloote, age 34, passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2023, surrounded by loving family and friends. Patrice, the daughter of George Ford and Jacqueline Coke, was born on February 8th, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
She was brilliant and graduated from Hampton High School at the top of her class. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Microbiology from the University of West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. Patrice had a fulfilling and lasting impact on everyone she worked with in her profession. She spent most of her career at J Wray Nephew and Campari Group, where she thrived in the role of packaging engineer.
Patrice relocated from Jamaica to Lexington, Kentucky, in February of 2016, where she met her future husband, Michael Kloote. On December 3rd, Patrice married the love of her life in a private ceremony in Detroit, Michigan. Although their marriage ended too soon, Patrice and Michael lived a life filled with passion, jubilation, kindness, travel, and searching for their best next meal.
Patrice recently found passions for wood-working and welding, craft beer, and taking her fur baby, Dolly, for family walks. With Michael, Patrice was happiest at Carnival in Jamaica. She would dress up and dance to SOCA music with Appleton rum in hand. May you continue to be dancing from the heavens.
Patrice had a one-of-a-kind gift that could make anyone she spoke with feel loved and special. She was independent, strong, determined, brilliant, kind, compassionate, caring, and quick-witted. Patrice was a devoted wife, sister, daughter, dog mom, cousin, and friend.
Patrice leaves behind with shattered hearts her husband, Michael Kloote; brothers Tashay (Tabitha) Ford and Mario Stephenson; Aunt Andrea Coke-Griffiths; in-laws William (Karen) Kloote, Melissa (Dak) Teoli, Christopher (Mary Kay) Kloote and Timothy Kloote; cousins Jevaughn Clarke; Jtenae Griffiths; Jermaine Griffith; Erwin Coke; and many more family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Ford and Jacqueline Coke, as well as her grandmother, Delphie
Coke.
