Patricia Buie

Patricia Ann Buie passed away November 27th under hospice care in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born May 8th, 1949 in Memphis, TN to Reverend John N. Buie and Martha Amanda Hutchins Buie.Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Connie Buie Elkins and brother, John Scott Wilkerson, she is survived by son, Ichiro Buie Stewart; sister, Lauralyn Buie Jameson; grandchildren, Rosella Stewart and Edel Stewart; a nephew and several nieces.She was an accomplished musician who was born to play the piano. Her first performance was at age 6 with her own composition sung with harmony with her 3 year old sister. She and Lauralyn performed at all of their father's churches when he was a circuit preacher in Mississippi.She loved to travel and took her gift of music worldwide. She was a studio musician in Nashville and participated and practiced her faith as Minister of Music wherever she was living.In her later years, she found her calling in the geriatric field, caring for the homebound with medical needs. It was, in her words, her way of giving back.Heartfelt thanks to all her friends in the Nashville area that ministered to her needs as she battled cancer, especially Connie Hart, Candy Christman, Richard Johnson, Daly Thompson, Ann and Jack Miller, Julia and Bob Lowe and Victor Legg. She was also helped immensely by niece, Cynda Bellamy at the beginning of her diagnosis, and nephew, Nick Elkins throughout the journey.A celebration of her life will be held December 13th at 2:00pm at Johnson's Chapel United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN.
