“Uncle Phil”
Phillip J York
Born May 30, 1947 in Brockville, Ontario Canada. Died February 28 2023 after a brief illness in Nashville.
Mother Lillian Irene Parry died August 15, 2005. Father Percy York died February 4, 2010.
Survived by daughter Heather Anne York and granddaughter Natasha York.
Sister Brenda Fotheringham and her Husband John Fotheringham. Three nephews Cory, Shawn and Michael Fotheringham. (Hence the nickname Uncle Phil which everyone knows him by)
Phil was a musician and held positions with “Conqueror Drum and Bugle Corp”, drummer for the “Tri Tones” and “Coulson Expansion Band”. He was also backup singer / comedian for the Diamonds who were famous for their song (Little Darlin). Most recently he was retired as the general manager of the Tennessee Mountain Getaway Campground at Cuba Landing in Waverly, TN.
Phil was a 32nd degree Mason and also a member of the Shrine and was active in both until his passing.
A memorial service is planned for later this spring and will be announced on his Facebook page.
