Queen V. (Johnson) Hardin, the daughter of the late O’Neil and Edith Johnson was born December 25, 1932 in Wayne County, Goldsboro, North Carolina. She fell asleep in death on May 12, 2022. She was proceeded in death by her father, mother and brother Aaron O’Neil Johnson, Sr., along with her husband of 56 years Carl Edward Hardin, and two sons Ronald V. and Donald K. Hardin.
Queen was educated in Wayne County School system, and attended North Carolina University in Durham, NC. Upon graduation, she taught business English.
Queen met Carl Edward Hardin in the downtown Nashville Arcade through a mutual friend. They married December 1954 after he returned from Korea. To that loving union, three children were born, Ronald V. Donald K, and Laketra S; all raised in Nashville, TN.
Queen worked at Meharry Medical College/Hubbard Hospital for 26 years. While there she worked as an office manager, Assistant to Hospital Administrator, Business Office manager, and Marketing Coordinator/Personnel Specialist.
Queen was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses on May 21, 1962. She served faithfully in the Nashville, North Congregation until her health declined and subsequent death. She had the opportunity to serve on many occasions as an auxiliary pioneer in the congregation. Queen loved Jehovah and assisting her children, grandchildren, family and friends to get to know the God she loved and his wonderful promises of the future.
Queen is survived by her devoted daughter, Laketra Shonta Hardin of Nashville, TN. Her only sister, Faye Johnson Love of Columbus, OH. Grandchildren, Mario, Anthony, DonKeithia, Yasmeen, Skylar and Jillian. Six great-grandchildren, brother-n-law George A. McKeever, Sr of Nashville, TN; sister-n-law Carol Hardin of Chicago, IL and Carolyn Leamon of Huntsville, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, very special friends and neighbors Albert and Frances Larry, Vernon Winfrey, Annie Price, Lee Williams, Synthia Tucker, Melvin, Ann and Melva Black, Pam Rucker along with the dear friends of the Nashville North Congregation.
A Zoom Memorial Service for Queen V. Hardin will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
