R. Louis Jarrell, Jr., age 62, passed away on February 21, 2021 in Nashville, TN after an intense battle with CJD. Louis was born on July 9, 1958 in Wilmington, DE. He is the son of the late Ralph L. Jarrell, Sr. and Hannah Elizabeth Jarrell. Louis' family moved from Delaware to Smyrna, TN when he was 12 years old. He is a graduate of Smyrna High School, Class of 1976, and attended Middle Tennessee State University where he received a BBA in Accounting. Louis always had an incredible work ethic, starting with his paper route in Delaware when he was only 6 years old! While preparing for his CPA exam, he worked at UPS and for Gary Hunt, a CPA in Manchester, TN. It was while working at UPS that he met his wife of 33 years, Jennifer Corban Jarrell. Louis was an ambitious man, making great friends with every career move. Starting at Deloitte & Touche, LCC in 1985, he then went to HealthCare Corporation where he discovered his love of flying airplanes! He ultimately became an Independent Consultant, traveling weekly for the last 14 years. He sacrificed a lot to keep his eye on his goals of being a good provider for his family and living a good life. Louis had many interests and hobbies. He loved golfing with his friends every possible weekend, fishing, scuba diving, flying, eating good food, driving classy cars, being a faithful Kappa Sigma brother, and taking on every project that needed attention at home. His favorite thing, however, was watching and guiding his children through their many life challenges and experiences. Louis is survived by his wife, Jennifer and his children, Maxwell Corban Jarrell and Hallie Louise Jarrell of Nashville, his mother, Hannah Jarrell of Smyrna, his sister Sally Biggs of Coopertown and brother Doug Jarrell of Smyrna. He will be missed and eternally loved by his family and many, many wonderful friends. An organized gathering for family, friends and colleagues honoring Louis is being planned for a later date.
