In Loving Memory of Robert Warren Wilson (Principal boB)
With heavy hearts and a long and winding road of memories, we announce the passing of Robert Warren Wilson, affectionately known as Principal boB, on Wednesday, March 6th. He has left behind a world that is a little less bright without his presence but so much richer for his contributions.
Principal boB was a Superman in the eyes of those who knew him, especially to his beloved wife, Gracie, their two daughters, Sarah and Sally, and his three grandsons, Lennon, Rizzo, and Odin. He also leaves behind his big sister Jan, whom he looked up to since they were kids. He was their Hard Day's Night fighter, their Here Comes the Sun in the darkness, and their true Hero in every sense of the word. Gracie, Sarah, Sally, Lennon, Rizzo, Odin, and Jan were his Fellowship, his strongest supporters, and the light of his life. To Lennon, Rizzo, and Odin, he was more than a grandfather; he was their best buddy, and they were his. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Dawn and Alan, and Dawn’s two children, Colin and Jennifer.
Principal boB was the heart and soul of the Nashville School of the Arts in his professional life. Like a true leader of the school, he led with a mix of wisdom and whimsy, creating an environment where creativity and weirdness was encouraged and celebrated. Under his stewardship, the school was his Shire, where every student could find their voice, be heard, and be safe.
An ardent fan of the Beatles, Superman, Kermit the frog, King Kong, and Lord of the Rings (to name a few), Principal boB's life was a symphony of passions. He was Here, There, and Everywhere always engaged in conversation, singing, teaching, and learning With a Little Help From His Friends. His band, Timeline, was more than a musical venture; it was a Magical Mystery Tour of life's highs and lows, a journey he cherished deeply. His last full-length album, "PB," available on Spotify, is a testament to his undying love for music and storytelling.
Principal boB's departure leaves a Blackbird silhouette in the skies of our hearts, but his melody lives on. Let us not say Goodbye but Hello, for in our memories and in the legacy he leaves behind, he will forever be our Yellow Submarine navigating the sea of time, our Man of Steel who taught us that we could all be heroes in our own right. Go Cubs go!
