Robin Byron Fuller, Sr., age 76 of Nashville, passed away February 26, 2015. Mr. Fuller was born September 13, 1938 in Rome, GA to Erby Byron and Pauline Johnson Fuller.Mr. Fuller attained his rank of Eagle Scout at age 12, making him the youngest Eagle Scout in the U.S. and that record still stands today. He was very dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America and worked at the Boy Scout camps during the summers. He graduated from Darlington School in Rome, GA and received a B.A. from Emory University and M.A. in English from Duke University. Following his graduation, he began teaching at Darlington School in Rome with his wife, Emily and they also served as dorm supervisors. A few years later, they moved to Charlotte, NC and Mr. Fuller began teaching at Charlotte Country Day School. In 1967 Mr. Fuller accepted a position at Vanderbilt University and the family moved to Nashville. After 18 years of service at Vanderbilt, he began work with the Educational Foundation, going to colleges in the mid-west selling E.F.’s study abroad programs. His dedication to the Nashville community, lead to his work as a fundraiser for several non-profit organizations including the Nashville Symphony. He also served in TN Air National Guard achieving the rank of Lt. Col. and served as the chief administrator of the hospital at 118th Airlift Wing of the TN Air National Guard.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emily and sister, Jackie McCarthy. Mr. Fuller is survived by his son, R. Byron Fuller, Jr.; daughter, Holley Fuller Roberts; and granddaughter, Hannah Kate Roberts.A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, March 13, 2015 at West End United Methodist Church.
