He mostly lived in Texas, reared by his parents, William L. Ramsey and Juanita Holmes Ramsey who have both preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Michael Ramsey(Texas). Ron had a sister, Janet Barton, who preceded him in death. Janet and Robert Barton had three children, Robert Brent Barton (Texas), Kelsey Barton Morris (married to Andrew Morris of Texas), and Derrick Brady Barton (preceded Ron in death). Ron was married to Beryl Beth Overcash Ramsey for 35 years and they have three children, Allison Grace Ramsey (California) and Waffles (Ron's Granddog), William Russell Ramsey (Florida) and Andrew Thomas Elliott Ramsey (Tennessee and soon to be Texas again). Ron has in-laws and nieces and nephews on Beryl's side of the family – Claire Grace Overcash Brunson and Wilson Mark Brunson of Texas who have 2 children Beau Morgan Soles Brunson and his wife Kate (of Maryland) with 3 children ( Eleanor, Lexi, and John ) , Kendra Grace Brunson Maner and her husband David (of Texas) who are expecting their first baby. Carl N. Overcash and his wife Jane Warblow Overcash (Arkansas) are his other in-laws who have 5 children ( Mary Kathryn Overcash, Garrett Franklin Overcash (Canada) who is married to Ashley Overcash (they are expecting their first baby), Christopher Overcash, William Overcash (Germany), and Sarah Beth Overcash. Ron had many other relatives in East Texas and Louisiana.Ron had a profound love for our pets and several of those pets had long, wonderful lives as a result of the great care he made sure they received – Baxter, Murphy and Jackson were cat "rulers" over the dogs and household. Maggie was the first shelter puppy who was with us for 14 years (mixed black lab and beagle). Maggie passed this last year. Layla was our second shelter puppy (mixed Australian Shepherd) who is 9 years old and misses Ron already. Duchess is our Golden Retriever and she is 1 1/2 years old and is as sweet of a huge dog that you will ever find.Ron could find find the funny points in most anything you could talk about. He was an avid reader and woke up each morning to his cup of coffee with his daily online devotionals with Dr. Ed Young from Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.Of recent, Ron enjoyed traveling to Florida and found the weather and the people to be great. He enjoyed visiting places where Beryl worked with Community Health Systems (CHS) hospitals – from Alaska to Florida. He attended several functions from the extended Grace family in Arkansas. He also had the opportunity to be with the family and Inez Grace Overcash James (Beryl's mom) on her 100 birthday celebration several years ago. He loved talking with Oran James (Inez' husband) and his family, Meredith and Kenneth Tekell (Texas). We are all missing Ron and hope you will remember the great stories that are entertaining and heart warming that are about Ron. Our family will do the same!In lieu of flowers, please feel free to consider one of the following organizations – Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, Community Health Systems Care Funds (CHS Cares Fund as part of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee) to help CHS employees involved in disasters who are in need, and ASPCA.
