Thomas Martin

On Monday, August 9, 2021, Thomas Gene Martin, loving husband, brother, father, and friend passed away at age 77.

Tom was born on April 7, 1944, in Miami, FL to Harry and Jean Martin. He received his degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh and became a Landscape Architect. On August 11, 2007, he married his soul mate and best friend, Janet Dee Shoub. Their combined family consisted of one daughter, Gwyneth McEuen, and one son, Christopher Noll.

Tom had a great passion for his work. Throughout his life, he collected many amazing friends through his various jobs and hobbies. He also loved cars, motorcycles, reading, and music. He was known for his quick wit, his endless wisdom, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Harry, and mother, Jean. He is survived by his loving wife Dee, his children, Gwyneth (and Jeff), and Chris, his grandchildren Andrew McEuen and Adrienne McEuen, his sister, Susan Ralph, and her sons, Matt, Jon, and Alan.

Due to the current situation, a celebration of life will be held when it is deemed safe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to National Public Radio, the Alzheimer's Association, or the Nashville Public Library.
