Lt. Thomas Henry Webber III, age 75 of Nashville, passed away peacefully October 26, 2016 at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, surrounded by family, friends and his beloved wife, Anne. He was born September 5, 1941 in Memphis, TN.Tom was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned combat and service medals. He grew up in Memphis, TN, before moving to Nashville with parents, Hazel and Thomas Webber Jr. and brother, Walter. More recently, Tom lived in Annapolis, MD, before returning to Nashville.A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Tom proudly served as a surface warfare ship officer of the US Navy. On resigning his commission, Tom had a long career as executive in banking and in community and international credit unions. Mixing a gift for numbers and a compassion for people, he focused on banking as a community service and served as board member of the Federal Home Loan Bank system. A volunteer educator, Boy Scout leader and Mason, Tom always gave of himself.
Tom is survived by wife, Anne; sons, Andrew and Matthew, and their families.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Nashville with a reception to follow. Tom will be laid to rest with honors at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice and to Gilda's Club Nashville.
