Werner Bacher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Werner Bacher, who left us on July 14, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on December 30, 1949, in Austria, Werner was a dedicated artisan and beloved member of his community.

For 16 years, he served as the Bakery Manager at Puffy Muffin in Brentwood, TN, where his talent as a Meister Konditor brought joy to countless customers until his retirement in 2015. Werner had a passion for gardening, particularly with prickly plants like roses and cacti, reflecting his unique spirit.

An avid fisherman, some of Werner's fondest memories were made while salmon fishing off the coast of Alaska and deep-sea fishing in Belize. He cherished these moments in nature, where he loved the simplicity of life.

A devoted fan of the New York Rangers, Werner’s enthusiasm for hockey was infectious. Game days were sacred, with all other activities set aside as he immersed himself in the excitement of each match, whether at home on his mega TV (because he had to see the puck) or at the Bridgestone Arena.

Werner is predeceased by his parents, Rudolf and Ingeborg Bacher, his son Oliver, his sister Doris Illovazc, and his beloved Bichon, DiDi Bhum Bhum. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Michelle; his daughter, Dr. Melanie Linöcker; grandsons Nicolas and Philipp; his sister, Dr. Karin Hutter (Christian); and his nieces and nephews: Nicole, Jaqueline, Nadine, Katharina, Alexander, and Fabian.

Werner's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
