William Mcnair

William Edward McNair, age 79, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on March 29, 2023. Ed, as he was known, was born on August 15, 1943 to the late Wilmer Ard and Folabelle Smith McNair. He was born in Rising Fawn, Georgia and later moved to Oak Ridge, where he graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1962. Ed worked in the welding industry and had been retired for years. He enjoyed his days spending time outside feeding his birds and riding his tractor. Other than being a loving husband, he was affectionately known and referred to as Papa. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Puryear McNair. Also surviving are his children, Belinda Sims (John) and Joe McNair, his grandchildren, Jack Edward Sims, Caroline Sims, Faith Boner, and Christian Sargent, and his special pup, James. Surviving siblings are Patsy Williams, Frances Krol, Nancy Culberson, Martha Jackson, and Mike McNair (Laura). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. At this time, memorial arrangements are to be determined at a later date.
