William Michael Davis
William Michael Davis, 80, loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Charter Senior Living of Hermitage, TN, his home for the past three years.
William (Mike) was born on October 14, 1943, to George and Dorothy (Seals) Davis. He was raised in Nashville, TN, with his two brothers, George and Phillip. In 1958, Mike's family moved to Chicago. That's where Mike met and eventually married his high school sweetheart, Lynne Joanne (Demlow), on November 14, 1964. They lived in Villa Park, IL, for a short time, then moved to Hanover Park, IL, until ultimately settling in Elk Grove Village, IL, where they raised their two children, Kimberlee and William (Bill).
Mike's gift of gab and good nature made him a natural for a career in sales. He worked in sales at Frigidaire until he landed a sales position at AEC, Inc. in Elk Grove Village, IL, where he worked for over 20 years. In 1998, he and Lynne moved to Tennessee. Mike obtained a sales position at Bridgestone in Nashville, where he worked for several years until his retirement. Mike and Lynne enjoyed traveling and socializing with their many friends in their retirement. Mike and Lynne adored all their grandchildren and were involved in their activities.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy (Seals) Davis; his brother George; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Michael and Judith (Demlow) Rouille; and his son, Bill. He is survived by his daughter Kimberlee (Tim) Goard; his brother Philip (Leanne) Davis of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Benjamin, Mariah, Cody (Caitlin), Mackenzie, William, James, Daniel, and Kaylee; his nephew Peter Davis and his daughter Aislinn of Alexandria, VA; his niece Liesle Davis of Jacksonville, FL; his nephews John (Teresa) Rouille of Elgin, IL, Mark (Andrea) Rouille of Genoa, IL, and their children Gabe, Danielle (Brent) Solar, and their children, Sloan and Eleanor, Jeffery (Natalie) and their daughter Harley; nephew Chris (Doreen) Rouille of Tucson, AZ and their children Xander and Rumur; and his cousins Mary Frances Davis of Durham, NC; Tom (Barbara) Seals and Charlie (Wanda) Seals of Nashville; and countless dear friends.
Mike was an exceptional man. He was witty and enjoyed being the life of the party. He made and continued many friendships throughout his lifetime. Mike loved traveling; he had been to all 50 states. He loved the ocean best, but swimming in the lake nearby weekly was a close second. He enjoyed collecting coins and bird watching, and he also collected baseball cards with his son. His children, grandchildren, and family were most precious to him. Mike was very special to many people; he will be missed beyond words.
