Kevin Lee Plott, Age 54Former Kenton resident, Kevin Plott, 54, died on April 6, 2015, at his home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
He was born in Kenton on October 30, 1960, to Delores and Edward Plott. Kevin was a seven time cancer survivor prior to eventually succumbing to melanoma. Through those challenges, he became known for his courage, strength, and unwavering positive attitude. He learned how to appreciate, respect, and love life and took great joy in lifting others up to do the same. He drew inspiration from Philippians 4:8 - "...whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things".
Kevin was a graduate of Kenton High School, class of 1979. He went on to earn several college degrees from Lima Technical College, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Mississippi. He enjoyed attending World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
He had a successful career in the field of manufacturing quality engineering with several companies, including 27 years with Whirlpool Corporation.
Kevin is survived by Delores Plott (mother) of Kenton as well as Edward Plott, Jr. (brother), Brenda (Zurcher) Plott (sister-in-law), Lindsay (Plott) Newman (niece), Sara (Plott) Blunt (niece), and four great-nephews who all live in Tennessee. Preceding him in death was his father, Edward Plott, who died in 2003.
Kevin chose cremation. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date to be held in Kenton.
Memorial donations may be made in Kevin's name to the American Cancer Society.
